As we wrap up our P.U.S.H series let’s look at two powerful examples from the New Testament that show the importance of persistent prayer. First, think of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. He prayed repeatedly, asking God if there was another way to avoid the suffering ahead, but ultimately surrendered to God's will. Jesus shows us that persistent prayer isn’t about changing God's mind but aligning ourselves with His will, even when it’s hard.
Then there's the Apostle Paul, who prayed for relief from his "thorn in the flesh." Despite his prayers, God didn’t remove the thorn but instead told Paul, "My grace is sufficient for you." Paul's persistence taught him that God's power is often most visible in our weakness. Sometimes, when we P.U.S.H., the answer isn’t the removal of our struggle but a deeper experience of God’s sustaining grace.
As we continue to pray this week, let these examples remind us that endurance in prayer builds our faith, helps us lean into God’s grace, and connects us to the power of community prayer. Keep pressing in, knowing that God hears every prayer and is working in ways we might not yet see.
Remember while we may desire for our situation to change, God's desire is what we ultimately want. It's possible that He is allowing our prayers and petitions to change our hearts and not our circumstances.
