Examen Prayer - Week 1

Find a Quiet Space.  Choose this place to be with God, free from distractions. I recommend leaving your phone in another room if possible and writing down or printing off these steps if needed.

Settle In: Sit comfortably and close your eyes, take a few deep breaths to center yourself in God's presence. Ask Him to help you be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10).

Gratitude

Recall Moments of Gratitude: Lord God, You have been so faithful. You constantly surround me with  blessings and allow good things that happen, both big and small. Each blessing I receive is intentionally planned by you.

Give Thanks: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever" (Psalm 107:1). I thank You, Lord, for each moment that has led me to today. Thank you for Your constant intentionality towards me and your never ending provision.

Ask for Guidance: Holy Spirit, I ask for Your guidance today. Help me to see my day through God's eyes. Give me clarity and insight.

Recall the Day: Father, as I mentally walk through my day from start to finish, I notice my feelings, thoughts, and actions. I bring to mind each moment and reflect on them. ( take this time to share your true feelings with God The Father)

Notice God's Presence: I look for moments when I felt Your presence, Lord, when I was loving, and when I felt joy or peace. "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing" (Psalm 23:1). You are always with me, guiding and providing for me.

Acknowledge Mistakes: Father,  I acknowledge any actions, thoughts, or attitudes that were not in line with Your will. I recognize my shortcomings and my need for Your grace. Seek Forgiveness:  Lord, I ask for Your forgiveness. Help me to improve in these areas and to walk more closely with You. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

Set Intentions for Tomorrow: As I think about tomorrow, I set my intentions to follow Your will more closely. Help me to seek Your guidance in all I do.

Pray for Strength: I ask for Your strength, Lord, to make posi

tive changes in my life. "I can do all this through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13).

Closing PrayerExpress Your Hopes: Father, I end this time of reflection with hope and confidence. I completely trust in Your provision and care.

Thank God: I thank You, Lord, for this time You have given me. You are my provider and thank you for meeting all of my needs.  "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Amen.
