Lent is a sacred journey—40 days set aside for deeper reflection, repentance, and renewal. As we move through this season, we are invited to draw closer to God, laying aside distractions and focusing on His presence in our lives.
A Time for Repentance
In Joel 2:12-13, God calls His people to return to Him wholeheartedly:
"Return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning. Rend your heart and not your garments."
Lent is an opportunity to examine our hearts, seek forgiveness, and turn toward God with renewed faith. It’s not just about what we give up but about what we gain—a deeper relationship with Him.
The Purpose of Fasting
Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:16-18 that fasting is not about appearances but about a sincere connection with God. Whether you’ve given up certain foods, habits, or distractions, let this sacrifice be a way to create space for God’s presence in your daily life.
Drawing Near to God
Lent is also a season of prayer and spiritual renewal. James 4:8 encourages us:
"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you."
As we continue this Lenten journey, let’s embrace moments of silence, prayer, and reflection, remembering that this path leads us to the cross—and ultimately, to the victory of resurrection.
May this season be one of transformation, drawing us closer to Christ and His unfailing love.
